    MllsDeMode

On March 21 2011 Ingrid, Anja and I started the beauty, fashion & lifestyle blog Mademoiselles De Mode. Initially, Mlls De Mode was a hobby, but it was also an ideal opportunity to practice our webdesign skills.

We started the blog from scratch and did everything ourselves: graphic design, content creation and coding. It’s also very educational in terms of communication and marketing. The correct tone of voice, effective communication, an eye for usability and promotion via social media are obviously important factors.

In 2014 we celebrated the third anniversary of our blog. We’re also very proud to say that we have been featured in a few magazines, like Flair and Steps City Magazine. Furthermore, we have been ambassadors for beauty brand 2B and had the honour to be festival reporters for Belfius in the summer of 2013. We also blogged for Veritas’ Café Créatif and were chosen as blog of the month by StyleUnited in January 2014. In conclusion, we never expected that MllsDeMode would be so successful as it is at the moment.

Below some of my favorite articles I wrote and photographed:

In July 2018 we wrote our last article for MllsDeMode. This gave me the time to focus on my love for food photography & content creation with my Instagram Anneleen FotografEET.

  • Start Life

    Start Life

#AdultingIsHard | So how do you get millennials interested in a boring subject like insurance? By speaking their language on their prefered platforms!

Millennials are always on the lookout for advice on how to do adult things. Their main source of info? Social media & Google of course. So Ethias and BBDO launched Start Life: an immersive inbound platform with playful & useful content. By pushing this content through social media millennials touch base with serious topics like car & rent insurance. The more content they consume, the more serious the content gets.

I was one of the content creators for Start Life: from writing articles & link ads to designing infographics & uploading the content to the website.

Our hard work was even rewarded with an Effie nomination.

Below you can find some of my favorite work for Start Life:

P&G is another client I did a lot of content creation for: from copywriting to graphic design and photography.
  • Leef Lekker

    Leef Lekker

The immense rise of foodies & food porn both prove one thing: people are on the hunt for some meal inspiration. So inspiring people with unique recipes is a smart move. But using those recipes to promote your own products is even smarter. That’s exactly why FrieslandCampina & BBDO came up with Leef Lekker.

Leef Lekker is an inspirational online platform with tons of tasty recipes. Of course the FrieslandCampina products are always the highlight of the recipe.

During 3 years I’ve been the main webmaster for the platform. I designed & coded the newsletter, uploaded the new content online and also wrote some copy for the site. Below you can find some of my work on this project:

I guess Leef Lekker ignited my passion for food, as in 2020 I started my own Instagram, Anneleen FotografEET, with food photography as the theme.
  • Biebob Concerts

    Biebob Concerts

Biebob Concerts is a concert hall in Vosselaar, Antwerp. For 25 years now it is the place to be for raw guitar sounds and infernal singing. With a capacity of 400 people Biebob isn’t the biggest concert hall out there, but nevertheless it’s a big name in the Belgian metalscene. Biebob is renowned in the Kempen and beyond.

At Biebob Concerts I was responsible for the online communication from 2012 to 2016. This encompased social media, copywriting, graphic design, content management, e-mail development & marketing & public relations.

Did you know that I actually worked for two concert halls? AB Concerts is another venue I had the pleasure to work for.
  • Graspop Metal Meeting

    Graspop Metal Meeting

As one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe Graspop Metal Meeting has been the homebase for metalheads since 1996. And the prove is in the pudding, because the event lures in over 135,000 fans annually.

I’m very proud to have been part of the festival’s communication team for 5 years. It all started in 2012, when I developed a Deezer app for the festival. Streaming services like Spotify & Deezer just had been launched in our country, so there couldn’t have been a more perfect timing for this app.

The app was essentially a playlist of all the bands performing at that year’s edition, but in the corporate identity of the festival. The main goal of the app was obviously branding. No better way to do this than with music, right?

This app actually gave me my start at the festival. That same year I created content for Graspop’s social media. Obviously copywriting, photo editing and graphic design were useful skills that came to play for this.

Secondly I was responsible for the design of the information screens at the festival.

In 2013 some other responibilities were added to my list: I designed and coded the mobile landing page for the wifi access and the blog. I also came up with concepts for blogposts and wrote most of them. Some posts even went viral, so mission accomplished! On top of that, I was resposible for everything concerning the narrow broadcasting system: designing the information screens, programming the sequences and implementing a logical order of the screens.

The year after I also took care of the GMM mobile app and the communication with media partners Deezer & Appmiral.

In 2015 I actually interned at Graspop. During this internship I got the chance to deepen my editorial work. First off, I created a promotional plan for the official GMM compilation album. But I also immersed myself in other areas, for example the productional side of the album.

Organizational-wise I took care of the collaborations with media partners such as Rock Tribune and Skynet. This for example lead to the GMM special of Rock Tribune in May.

During my last year at Graspop I took on the added challenge of developing a new e-mail template for the festival. An extra difficulty for this template was that it had to work in the Mailchimp visual editor.

I’m definitely not a one-trick pony: besides Graspop I worked for numerous festivals. Indoor festival Hert Infarct was probably one of the more memorable ones.
  • AB Concerts

    AB Concerts

The Ancienne Belgique is probably the most popular concert hall for contemporary pop and rock music in Belgium, and is definitely one of the leading concert venues in Belgium.

When I saw a vacancy for communications assistant at AB Concerts I didn’t hesitate to react. From August until September 2015 I replaced the Online Project Manager at the venue.

The most important part of the job was e-mailmarketing: composing weekly newsletters, recommendation letters, invitation mails, …

Additionally, I maintained the website: drafting news items and updating the concerts.

I also did some work for their social media channels as a backup when the social media managers weren’t present.

From the leading concert venue to one of the top festivals in Belgium: for Graspop Metal Meeting I took care of their social and more for years.
