    My first website

Throwback to 2010, when I was getting my master’s in audiovisual arts. Back then, I was tasked with coding & designing my first website. Let’s just say I’ve grown a lot since then…

While I had dabbled in web design and development when I was still majoring in marketing, this assignment was on a whole other level. From coming up with a concept that highlights my personality and designing something around that to writing copy and finally coding the website. Seems pretty basic right now, but these were truely the first steps I took into concepting, design, coding and copywriting.

While I do find it quite cringeworthy (Those pics! That copy! That design!), there are a few similarities with my current style. My love of dark colors and the grunge style and my wit in writing to name a few. Anyways, I do feel like I’ve come a long way since then.

    Redesigning my portfolio

Every month I like to challenge myself with a creative assignment to up my game. This month I took on the task of redesigning my website.

Hard to imagine, but I’ve had the same layout on my website since I launched it back in 2018. So definitely time for a change! In the past my website focused on all the projects I worked on throughout the years, but for this redesign I wanted to emphasize my own personality, as that’s what really makes me stand out from the crowd.

I did this by adding multiple elements on my homepage. First of, I implemented an ‘about me’-section at the top of the page. Secondly, I added a block with fun facts about me. I also wanted to focus a bit more on my photography, hence why I added a gallery with some of my best work.

Not that the job is done by any means, as I still want to update the post and page templates. So definitely check this article again to discover the new updates I did to the website.

    AB Concerts

The Ancienne Belgique is probably the most popular concert hall for contemporary pop and rock music in Belgium, and is definitely one of the leading concert venues in Belgium.

When I saw a vacancy for communications assistant at AB Concerts I didn’t hesitate to react. From August until September 2015 I replaced the Online Project Manager at the venue.

The most important part of the job was e-mailmarketing: composing weekly newsletters, recommendation letters, invitation mails, …

Additionally, I maintained the website: drafting news items and updating the concerts.

I also did some work for their social media channels as a backup when the social media managers weren’t present.

From the leading concert venue to one of the top festivals in Belgium: for Graspop Metal Meeting I took care of their social and more for years.
